Danny van de Griend
Danny is the CEO of Cecil Alliance, the architect of The Internet of Animals. Together with a team of animal and tech experts, he is creating a better world for animals through technology. With the implementation of a new innovative data sharing economy for animal-based industries, our goal is to provide animals and their respective owners more control and insight over their data. Data which in turn can be used to push for better living conditions, medical insights and even animal protection.
Danny strongly believes that this can be realized by completely redesigning the way animal data is collected and managed. By placing animals at the center of the ecosystem, each animal has a unique Animal Digital Identity (ADI). The ADI data is managed through user-friendly software designed to fit industry standards and end-user requirements. The owners, caretakers and other stakeholders like studbooks and veterinarians of the animals will add the data directly to the ADI, improving complex processes and eliminating extensive and inefficient paperwork. Future stakeholders can easily connect to the ADI and start contributing to the ecosystem.
After more than two years of research and development, Cecil Alliance successfully released the first ADI solution at the end of 2019. The core fundamentals are designed to be able to rapidly scale across animal-based industries. It is the first strong layer of the Internet of Animals on which to build upon in the future.
So what’s next? The seamless integration of IoT solutions. Whether it’s leveraging existing best IoT practices from other industries to animal-based industries - or designing completely new IoT solutions from scratch - the ADI solutions are ready for it. IoT devices can directly tap into the ADI and start writing data at the convenience of the animal, the owner and the industry. It’s time for serendipity, through data, creating a better world for animals.
