Mark Xiyi Wu
Mark Xiyi Wu is a product designer, currently studying in Design Products of Royal College of Art, London.
After completed his MEng in Civil & Transport Engineering degree in Imperial College London, Xiyi is specialized on transportation sector. His education covers a wide range of related knowledge, including Transport Engineering, Transport & Economics Demand and Statistics, before published his dissertation work on applying Arup’s computational simulation for analysing evacuation scenarios in major tunnel.
Xiyi’s previous experience in ZeroHarm@Siemens to evaluate the human influences in system design. His proposed strategy established a regular scheme in a local factory to analyse and resolve the safety issues. The follow-up interviews have showed a great improved understanding on safety awareness among the new employees.
Xiyi believes the computational simulation is a key for designing any robust and reliable mass-flow system by analysing human behaviours. He has since transferred his engineering understanding towards his personal works and designs, in particular “big data” analysis and IoT. His recent research, in calibration with CERN, is to study the application of the latest technology in disruptive product design.
