Dr Rachel O'Dwyer is currently a government of Ireland research fellow in the University of Maynooth and a lecturer in the School of Computer Science and Statistics in Trinity College Dublin. She is lead curator of the Dublin Art and Technology Association and Openhere, a biennial festival and conference on the digital commons. She is a core member of the P2P foundation where she coordinates the academic research network and gender equality projects. Her research focuses on the political economy of communications, with an emphasis on intangible value, currencies, the commons and mobile communications. She is currently writing a book about electromagnetic spectrum.
She is editor in chief of the journal Interference a Journal of Audio Cultures.
