Sourav Rout is a senior management professional, having worked for most part of his decade-old career in the telecoms sector, with additional exposure to the cyber security and data science industries. Currently with the Telenet Group in Brussels, he contributes to the Internet of Things initiative, working on long-term technology strategy and collaborating with company-wide stakeholders to enhance operational excellence, using analytics for network-generated data and resource and equipment forecasting. Being a fast learner and early adapter, Sourav has worked across diverse functions, including strategy, analytics, project management, partnerships and business process management to name some.
The Internet of Things is a key interest and focus area for Sourav, and he advises companies on realizing the full potential of the IoT and how it can be leveraged to overcome operational hurdles and help in sustained growth. He is a member of the Wiley Innovation Advisory Council – IoT Chapter of the Wiley, a 200-year old global publishing house, developing industry-accepted academic, certification and training frameworks and resources on the Internet of Things, creating a platform and community for knowledge exchange, aligning and bringing best practices in IoT and proposing guidelines for skilling/re-skilling of personnel to ensure smooth and large-scale adoption of IoT.
Sourav puts considerable focus on academics and continued learning, having obtained the MBA and a Masters in Telecoms from top-tier schools of global repute. Being happily married, he finds strength in the company of his loving wife and the two have a strong affinity to taking long walks and listening to music.
