CURRENTS 2025 Is Slowing Down the Digital World

The 16th edition of CURRENTS Art & Technology Festival, is taking place June 13–22, 2025, at El Museo Cultural (Railyard Arts District) in downtown Santa Fe, NM. This year’s festival features over 70 works by 90 artists from around the world, along with exhibitions, multimedia performances, and a weekend bar—but what makes this edition especially significant is the launch of an inaugural two-day symposium titled:

Art & Technology in a Culture of Speed

Taking place during opening weekend, the symposium brings together artists, curators, and scholars to explore how technological acceleration shapes contemporary artistic practice and perception. Through panel discussions, artist talks, and a guided tour of selected works, the event will engage with themes of duration, slowness, immediacy, and digital time.
