IOT-OPEN.EU

IOT-OPEN.EU: We’ve just published an online IoT course developed under the wings of the Erasmus+ KA2 HE initiative and funding. Those modules are 100% free of charge and licensed CC.

IOT-OPEN.EU presented the first version of modules to the world in 2019,
and since then, over 16000 students from 156 countries worldwide have
enrolled, mainly via the EDX platform.
Now, in 2024, we have refreshed the modules: restructured the content
according to our teaching experience in SUT, RTU, and TalTech and the
reviewer’s hints and best practices.

All modules consist of video lectures, some self-reading materials (a
minor part of the content), and a self-evaluation.
We assume all modules are dedicated to beginners/bachelor’s level students.

In detail, module E1 is an introduction to the Internet of Things for
all those who hear “something” about IoT but are unfamiliar with the term.
Module E2 is a comprehensive guide for low-level IoT and embedded
systems programming, including a review of the popular tools and
development environments.
Module E3 is a hardware guide for authoring IoT devices. It includes a
review of modern IoT MCUs, sensors, and actuators.
Module E4 is dedicated to IoT networking. We introduce communication
protocols, models, and ideas of the protocol stack and review the
IoT-dedicated protocols on both low and high levels. Finally, we go
through the IoT firmware and frameworks for rapid development.

We welcome all young and adult students to try it and catch up with the
latest and most comprehensive IoT course for engineers.
Most of all, it is free for everyone, with no strings attached, and the
project is EU-sponsored, so we’re more than happy to go beyond our
university walls.

Currently, access to the modules for external (non-consortium) students
is possible via our new platform:
– register as a user and enrol in the selected
module.
