BRINGING BACNET TO LEGACY PROTOCOLS AND BEYOND

S4 Integration Solutions provides the enabling gateway technology to upgrade and/or transition legacy or proprietary building automation systems in commercial buildings (including multi-family housing) to smart building technologies.

S4IS BACnet ecobee Integration 1.0.41 supports ecobee API 2.0. There were features available through the ecobee SmartBuildings Portal that were not exposed in previous API 1.7.

API 2.0 closes that gap and enables us to publish this data to BACnet. Anything that could be accessed or updated through the SmartBuildings portal can now be accessed or updated via BACnet.

This development goes a long way towards making ecobee thermostats a viable choice for commercial buildings, or large, complex multifamily or multitenant installations.

ecobee has made access to their commercial API free for customers who are not using their SmartBuildings portal. This removes the SAAS stacking concerns for commercial customers. The aggregate monthly cost for this S4IS integration is now less than half the cost of what it historically would have been.

The ecobee SmartBuildings Portal is perfectly adequate for small to mid-size buildings. When the building is large enough, and complex enough to have a central plant or BACnet infrastructure, our S4IS BACnet ecobee Integration brings ecobee thermostats into the BACnet ecosystem.
